Prabhas continues his meteoric rise at the global box office, with “Kalki 2898 AD” steadily accumulating impressive numbers by the hour. The sci-fi film aims for a $10 million opening weekend in North America and has already secured a spot in the top 10 charts in the UK and Australia based on initial figures.
As of Day 2, “Kalki 2898 AD” has amassed a worldwide box office collection of 280 crore, slightly below the anticipated 300 crore mark for the first two days. The film grossed 191 crore globally on its opening day but experienced a 52% drop on Day 2.
Early estimates indicate that the epic has earned approximately 85 – 90 crore worldwide on its second day, driven significantly by audiences in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia, where it continues to perform strongly.
Looking ahead, the Nag Ashwin-directed film is poised to expand its global footprint further, potentially crossing the 450+ crore mark over the weekend, bolstered by expected strong showings on Saturday and Sunday.
“Kalki 2898 AD” draws inspiration from the Mahabharata, featuring Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama and Kamal Haasan as the antagonist Yaskin.
